Excitement is building for this year’s Fairliner Rendezvous! We had such a terrific weekend last year and we have been invited to return to showcase our Classic Fairliners at the Des Moines Waterland Festival again this year.
The 3-day weekend, July 22nd – 24th, offers a variety of events on land and water. The Festival itself offers:
Friday – Children’s activities at Des Moines Field House
Saturday – Children’s Parade followed by the Grand Parade (a must-see), Classic Car Show, Wooden Boat Show, and other activities not yet listed on their website: www.destinationdesmoines.org/waterlandfestival
Sunday – Classic Car Show, Wooden Boat Show, and other activities not yet listed on their website.
In addition to the planned event activities, there is the Saturday Farmers’ Market from 10:00 to 2:00
The Wooden Boat Show participants (that’s us!) will enjoy additional activities such as Friday night BBQ on the dock, Saturday night appetizers and Happy Hour at the home of wood boat enthusiasts Bill and Patti Linscott, and Sunday morning breakfast on the dock. Breakfast and BBQ are graciously furnished by Wooden Boat Show organizer Todd Powell.
I have saved the best for last!
You get all this for a registration fee of $40.00. This is for everything listed above and INCLUDES moorage for Friday and Saturday night. You cannot have this much fun for this little cost anywhere else!
The Des Moines Marina is famous for having the lowest fuel prices on the South Sound so you may want to fuel up while you are there.
Here is a copy of the form needed to request being an entrant in the show:
We would like to thank Todd Powell for inviting us to be part of this wonderful event. The best way to thank him and encourage future invites is to have a strong showing this year of our enthusiasm and our beautiful and classic boats.
Happy Boating and we look forward to visiting with all of you at the festival!
